How You'll Make a Difference

Responsible for the installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, systems, and machinery. Acts as a resource on more complex, technical electrical issues.

  • Installs, replaces, repairs and tests electrical circuits, equipment, wiring, appliances, systems, lighting, signals, communication, generating and distribution equipment (over 4000 volts), and power circuits.
  • Makes recommendations on the design layout and installation of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Serves as a liaison to contractors, performing follow-up for supervisor, relaying requirements of the job, etc.
  • Analyzes and isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using test instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, and voltmeter.
  • Maintains, tests, and repairs building electrical equipment such as emergency power generator sets, fire pumps, air handling units, fire alarm system, and equipment in power house.
  • Conducts electrical safety inspection of new equipment being brought into the facility such as refrigerators, microwave ovens, beds, etc. Maintains an inventory of electrical supplies and initiates request.
  • Conducts electrical preventative maintenance as scheduled and assists in updating and monitoring of preventative maintenance records. Maintains current daily logs, preventive maintenance records and equipment repair files in order to comply with local, state and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Instructs employees on location of protective devices for equipment, branch circuits and feeders and also the location and function of controls for special circuits.
  • Computes job costs, order parts, equipment, supplies, and materials as needed. Assists in construction, remodeling and maintenance projects.
  • Acts as a resource by training and mentoring employees on more complex technical electrical issues that may require more complicated troubleshooting. Advises and updates management and other staff on procedural changes.
Qualifications
License & Certifications
Electrician, Journeyman license issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS), or Electrician, Master license issued by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS), and Driver license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
Education
Associate's Degree in Electrical Studies.- will consider less education
Experience
Typically requires 2 years of experience in providing services as an Electrician.

Current driving record that meets Aurora fleet safety standards. Advanced knowledge and understanding of National Electrical codes, state and local electrical codes/regulations pertaining to healthcare equipment and operations. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and job specifications. Ability to communicate effectively with various departments in order to coordinate repairs.
