The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Leveraging the education you received already, we hope to give you an opportunity to grow and develop with us!

• Review, understand and follow verification and validation studies protocol
• Provide feedback where improvement opportunities or gap(s) are identified in protocols
• Collaborate cross functionally with other teams/engineers on planning and execution of tasks
• Provide support to software developer, requirement engineer and systems engineer

Additionally, the selected intern will be asked to participate in various intern activities, which may include workshops with leaders in the organization, our mentor program, and our Poster Symposium among other activities.

Qualifications:

• BS Majors in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science or related field
• Completed > 2 years of undergraduate university/college studies
• Basic Skills includes: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Reliable, organized and punctual
• Strong verbal and written skills, and be able to write documentation and reports in a structured format
• Comfortable operating sophisticated computer and instrumentation equipment/hardware
• Basic engineering laboratory skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Programming experience in C/C++, Python, or other Verification and Validation experience
• GLP and GMP experience
• Knowledge of test protocols development, optomechanical design and assembly, electromechanical assembly.

Program Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2019

• Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.

• Must have a =3.0 GPA

• Minimum availability of 12 weeks (Required start on or before program Welcome Reception and end date on or after Summer End Poster Symposium).

• Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia

• Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience
  

What You Will Learn:

• Gain an understanding and learning the importance of design verification and validation process for medical device
• How to carry out verification and validation studies and generate relevant reports using GLP
• Soft skills development on communication and working collaboratively across multiple teams
• Gain hands-on industry experience in an official GLP testing environment for medical device
