Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Research new and historic legislation, congressional district demographics, and Members of Congress' and the Executive Branch's position statements on key issues
  • Assist the federal government relations team by preparing fact sheets, infographics, presentations, position papers, and briefing materials on both politics and policy
  • Help draft the monthly PAC newsletter, manage content for internal PAC social media (Yammer), and support PAC fundraising campaigns
  • Become familiar with the basic operations of a government relations team, and work on projects including legislation tracking, data management, and event planning
  • Work with other Syngenta departments possibly including but not limited to industry relations, regulatory, internal and external communications, legal, and global and corporate affairs
  • Attend meetings with government officials and industry trade associations, with and on behalf of the federal government relations team
  • Interact and network with the broader agriculture community in Washington DC

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Student must be pursuing a bachelors or advanced degree in American Politics, Pre-Law, Communications or another closely related field of study.
  • Fluent in English
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Communication- The ability to communicate information well (written, spoken, and via telephone) is highly desired in this position
