Job Description

We have exciting opportunities for skilled WELDERS, FABRICATORS/ FITTERS to join our growing Towers and Heavy Fabrications operations. We manufacture some very large and challenging fabrications and assemblies that will put your skills to the test. The broad variety of projects provides ongoing learning and skills development opportunities, supplemented with an in-house welding lab and school. Our team members routinely weld steel plate ranging in thickness from " to 8" or greater, in all positions, on fabrications which support customers who are industry leaders in Mining, Construction, Energy, Mobile Equipment, Power Conditioning, Processing Equipment, and Shipbuilding. In these roles, welders must be able to fabricate and weld steel structures and components to various industry welding standards including AWS, CWB, ABS, ASME, or AISC. Processes include SAW, GMAW, FluxCore, and TIG. The opportunity to learn and become certified in new processes is available to all our welders. Based on experience, welders may be eligible to start at a higher level to work with advanced fitting or mentoring of others.

Be able to successfully weld in both flat and horizontal positions, GMAW and vertical flux core

-Measure, lay-out, and fabricate weldments to print; visually inspect joint for cleanliness and profile

Based on skill, this role may:

-Assist with the estimation process by providing input on processes and labor requirements

-Participate in customer visits

-Mentor in various weld-skills

-Monitor and sign-off on welder qualification/testing

-Follow all EHS policies in order to work safely; fully engage in behavioral based safety initiatives

-Support continuous improvement initiatives

Experience and Specialized Skills needed to be successful:

-High school diploma or GED required

-Completion of a welder's training program or certification (1 or 2 yrs.) is highly preferred

-The more experience, the more likely you can come in at a higher grade and wage level

-2 years or more of related welding experience

-Experience in a production environment

-Experience in heavy fabrications

-Solid knowledge of welding theory

-Understanding of blue prints and weld maps and able to read weld symbols

-Overhead crane certified

-Must be able to complete and pass weld qualification test(s) for specific levels

-Able to read and follow all weld work instructions and consistently weld within parameters

-Ability to clearly communicate weld requirements

-Candidate must be able to pass a Jaeger J2 vision test, with or without corrective vision
