Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic must be mechanically inclined, highly skilled in the diagnoses and repair of complex machines and tools used in the manufacturing industry, temperamentally suited to do skilled accurate work that requires concentration working close to dimensional tolerances. should be able to trouble shoot and repair complicated electrical and PLC systems, have strong communication skills, able to work independently, and is able to be on call 24 hours.
You will be responsible for:
Qualifications include educational and work background emphasizing machine trouble shooting, maintenance, and repair, as well as experience reading electrical schematic/ladder diagrams and a hands-on ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic controlled devices. The ability to operate machines such as but not limited to lathes, milling machines, CNC machines, drill presses, welding equipment, and other machine and hand tools to make and repair parts and equipment.
Qualifications include a High School or Vocational School education, or equivalent. The determination of a person becoming a Maintenance Mechanic I will be at the discretion of management.
JOB DESCRIPTION
MAINTENANCE MECHANIC I
General duties
9. Lubricate and clean shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, and other machine parts.
10. A. Set up and operate all shop maintenance equipment.
B. Make complicated replacement parts involving work from detailed drawings with close specifications. Equipment includes but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, horizontal and vertical mill, welder, shear, brake, and other metal, wood, and other material working tools to make and repair parts.
11. A. Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.
B. Should be able to trouble shoot and repair complicated electrical and PLC systems.
12. Install electrical equipment and repair or replace wiring and fixtures. Repair and maintain machinery, electrical wiring, and fixtures in accordance with blueprints, manual, and technical publications.
13. Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other plumbing equipment. You will also be required to open clogged drains using a plunger and other plumbing tools, measure, cut, and install pipe and tubing for air, gas, water, hydraulic, and other fluid lines using standard piping fitting tools and equipment.
14. Make and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures using saws, braces, bits, and other carpenter’s tools. Paint walls, floors, woodwork and fixtures of establishment using spray guns and brushes, Also replace and repair brick and plaster walls using common construction procedures.
15. Generate and implement equipment, process, and facility improvements.
16. Support and train other employees in the maintenance group.
17. Observe all plant safety rules.
Physical Fitness
Must be capable of working at heights higher than three feet off the ground to perform tasks of general maintenance. You should also be capable of performing acts of safe lifting procedures associated with maintenance activities and that back, arms, legs, and feet be sound for maximum safety.
Transportation
Must have a valid motor vehicle operator license for the state of Wisconsin and be capable of driving a motor vehicle. It’s important to have your own personal transportation for the conveyance of tools and self to perform maintenance mechanic work related services at our out of town properties, facilities, and off hour emergency calls at all Research Products Corporation properties.

- Adjust functional parts of devises and control instruments.
- Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
