Position Description
Primary Responsibilities:
Lead the development of methods, tooling, and processes to successfully implement new product platforms, manage supplier quality, develop new manufacturing processes, and support needs of facility. The improvements should emphasize cost effectiveness, design conformance, quality cost and lead time reduction.
Duties:
• Lead manufacturing development, process control, cost and productivity initiatives using Lean Manufacturing tools.
• Prepare plant layouts and determine material handling and storage systems related to the needs of the business.
• Specify, justify, requisition, and implement new capital equipment.
• Define, design, implement, and manage tooling, fixtures and test equipment.
• Participate in new product design and development meetings.
• Verify drawing specifications with manufacturing capabilities.
• Assist in equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance development, and operator training programs.
• Analyze and recommend improvements for the supplier management program and operations processes in conjunction with an ISO-based quality management system.
• Coordinate and review supplier PPAP requirements and support processes including management of 1st articles, control plans, inspection plans and other quality documentation.
• Participate in qualification and selection of suppliers as well as periodic audit of current suppliers.
• Coordinate the development of quality system procedures and work instructions.
• Material Review Board management including timely, accurate RMA and NCMR processing.
• Lead Operations quality improvement processes thru data collection, root cause analysis, and corrective / preventive action planning.
• Responsible for leading teams to reduce warranty expense and freight damage through continuous improvement activities.
• Coordinate and lead internal quality system audits.
• Uphold Brewer Quality Policy and Operating Philosophies in all activities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, and experience in cell design, process planning, and lean manufacturing. Experience in ISO 9001 or 13485 and supplier quality preferred.
