Position Description

Shepherds Foundation, Inc. seeks applications and nominations for the position of Planned Giving Officer. Shepherds Foundation (www.foundation@shepherdsministries.org) raises current gifts to help families pay for the cost of care of their loved one, and is currently concluding the first phase of a $15 million capital campaign. The Foundation also seeks and administers planned gifts, to generate income for subsidy of cost of care. The second $10 million phase of the capital campaign will be in the form of planned gifts raised in the next 10 years, working a Planned Giving Plan developed in a recent Planned Giving Program Assessment.

The planned giving staff person will be the first full time staff person focusing specifically on planned gifts. While this person will need to be able to travel throughout the United States, most of the contacts will be in the upper Midwest states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. The planned giving staff person will be able to reside in this area.

The planned giving staff person will join a team of individual and church field staff, who report ultimately to the Vice President for Development. Assistance from The Timothy Group, (fund raising counsel) will be available to implement the Planned Giving Plan.
