Thank you for considering employment with Environment Control-Wisconsin.
We perform nightly cleaning at 100+ office buildings in the Madison area and currently have 320 employees. We clean offices of all sizes, some small enough to require only one employee, some requiring over 20. Generally, we are looking for employees to work 2 to 4 hours per night, 5 nights per week (Mon-Fri).
However, we do have many different positions, shifts, and opportunities. We have one account in Prairie du Sac near Hwy 12 and we need a Lead Cleaner to clean and assist another cleaner to ensure quality work each night, 6-9:30pm, M-F.
About the work we do: Our cleaners--we call them "Controllers"--work independently, performing basic cleaning tasks on one or more cleaning "routes." Most often, controllers work at buildings with other employees, but clean alone. Nightly tasks include: trash removal, dusting, spray-cleaning, restroom cleaning, dust-mopping, wet-mopping, cleaning entryways, stairwells and vacuuming. Other, more detailed items are completed on a weekly basis.
Keep in mind that our jobs can be physically demanding. Some of our positions require lifting up to 25 pounds; a few require lifting up to 50 pounds.
The nature of our jobs provides us a great opportunity to be able to promote our employees from within the organization. We have done so very successfully for many years.
What do we look for in our employees? We have found several challenges that often surprise people when they begin working as an office cleaner:
- Physical Work-Our jobs are more physically demanding than most people expect.
- Communication-Unlike many jobs, our employees are never in the same place at the same time. Utilizing good communication is vital to our success.
- Reliability-We work hard to balance required workloads with the scheduling needs of our employees. That said, employees are assigned set duties and we expect them to fulfill their commitment to complete the work as scheduled.
We are committed to providing each of our employees with a positive work experience. Know that if you are hired, we will regard you as our "internal customer" and strive to treat you with the respect and kindness you deserve.
