Yard Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for directing, organizing, implementing, standardizing and sustaining processes in which our customers and employees experience a high level of service, cleanliness, friendliness and efficiency throughout a safe work place. This is a very dynamic position in the organization and requires a very gregarious personality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Direct flow of incoming vehicles and walk through traffic to ensure efficiency and safety is maintained.
• Assist customers with necessary information on upgrading of materials, proper container usage, scale usage, payment process, safety regulations, Freon disposal, and materials they can be recycling in the future.
• Communicates with scale operators regarding retail load discrepancies and regarding commercial load processing.
• Exchange information related to safety and customer service issues with forklift drivers.
• Plans workload with other coordinators and acts as scale operator, crane, skidsteer, and forklift backup.
• Informs Operations Manager about needed repairs on equipment used in the yard. Assists in educating the operators on the proper use of equipment in order to prevent damage and eventual downtime.
• Maintains container availability, 5S process for cleanliness, and informs customers, truck drivers, and employees to clean up the yard.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Although this position has no supervisory responsibilities, he/she will be responsible for giving direction, under the guidance of the Operations Manager, to all individuals entering, exiting, upgrading, and working in the yard.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma

One year of related experience and/or training;

Equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Associates degree is preferred.
