JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:
Industrial Engineering includes the development of standards, processes and schedules, and the utilization of facilities and staff to improve production, maintenance or related operations. It also encompasses work distribution and simplification, process flow and section layout.

Plan, conduct or coordinate a range of complex engineering activities encompassing one or more engineering disciplines. Conduct or coordinate complex analyses and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices and business considerations. Serve as consultant to management and customers regarding advanced technical studies, their potential application and the resolution of complex problems. Manage or coordinate major engineering projects of substantial impact to the company. Proactively develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction.

The Senior Industrial Engineer reports directly to the Manager of Strategic Operations with matrixed reporting to the Low Voltage Products business team, the headcount resides in the Low Voltage Products business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
? Develop and implement long range plans including Plant Facility layout, product costing, establish personnel requirements and capital equipment needs
? Improve accuracy of production standards through time study, standard data development, Line balancing, capacity studies, schedules and application of standard times or methods
? Determine optimum manufacturing processes and material usage and work distribution and simplification, process flow and section layout
? Provide cost analysis
? Identify and Implement a new automation processes and procedures
? Drive the price of the Operation cost, non value added activities and processes variation down by utilizing Lean – Six Sigma tools
? Conduct or coordinate complex analyses and develop recommendations based on sound engineering practices and business considerations
? Serve as consultant to management and customers regarding advanced technical studies, their potential application and the resolution of complex problems
? Manage or coordinate major engineering projects of substantial impact to the company
? Proactively develop and implement measures to improve operations and customer satisfaction
? Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED: Requires the use of the appropriate ESD equipment when in the manufacturing areas, and customer required safety equipment and clothing when traveling.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or related field plus 1 to 8 years of experience. Requires work experience in a high velocity environment and in Demand Flow Technology. Alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
