INTERNSHIP POSITION DESCRIPTION
Internship description:
• Spring 2010
• Part-time
• Unpaid
• 8 hours per week
We will accept Credit and Non-Credit Students.
Parking is available and free
Join the LLS staff and help organize The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year campaign, culminating in the black-tie Grand Finale Gala! Man & Woman of the Year is a friendly fundraising competition between philanthropic-minded business and community leaders. While each candidate conducts their own campaign, all candidates are united by one goal: to raise funds to help blood cancer patients live longer and more fulfilling lives.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Communication with participants through eNewsletters, email, and website
• Developing event materials
• Sponsorship management
• Event promotion through media contacts
• Tracking news releases, PSAs and mentions in media for event promotion
• Managing event logistics
• Working with committees
• Recruiting and managing participants
Experience/ Skills Desired:
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Strong organizational skills
• Detail-oriented
• Able to work on multiple tasks
• Independent worker within a team environment
• Computer literate with Microsoft Office Applications
• Positive and Energetic Attitude
• Interest in Graphics/layout (preferred, not required)
