Summary: Home Health United is looking for two full-time Delivery Technicians to work out of our Madison West location.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent with minimum two years prior durable medical equipment delivery experience or any combination of education or experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills or abilities.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must maintain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and good driving record.
Must maintain proof of current auto insurance and access to a car in good working condition.
Must possess and maintain current CDL Class C endorsement and Hazmat certification.
Positions in this classification require weekend, holiday and evening on-call duties.

Positions in this classification are distinguished from other positions in the Delivery Technician
classification in that the employees spend the majority of their time in the delivery of liquid
oxygen.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
This listing is not to be construed as all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
· Reviews work orders and documents delivery route. Conducts phone calls to schedule
delivery of liquid oxygen.
· Monitors liquid tank as it is filling; checks purities of liquid.
· Fills stationary liquid oxygen system off of truck. Monitors filling of stationary liquid units.
· Drives Hazmat vehicle to patients homes and carries liquid stationary tank into patient
home.
· Provides patient with orientation and instruction on the proper use of equipment.
Responds to patient inquiries on usage.
· Assists in the transport of other deliveries of durable medical equipment, equipment
oxygen systems and supplies using delivery van or truck to locations indicated on
delivery schedule.
· Performs follow-up servicing of equipment in the field as necessary. Performs minor
repair of equipment as required.
· Performs documentation tasks including obtaining signatures from patients upon
delivery. Completes Hazmat forms. Completes driver route sheets. Completes vehicle
pre-trip and post-trip checklists.
· Assists in cleaning and disinfecting used equipment.
· Performs daily vehicle maintenance and safety checks on assigned vehicle. Cleans
vehicles following use.
MARGINAL JOB DUTIES
· Assists warehouse personnel as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
regulations as pertain to transport of oxygen, completion of travel logs and safety.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations pertaining to Hazardous Materials, Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Knowledge of the use of and installation of durable medical equipment and supplies.
Computer Skills:
May use a computer for retrieving and exchanging information via e-mail.
Human Interaction:
Ability to exchange, explain, demonstrate and clarify information for others within established
polices, procedures and standards.
Position requires excellent customer service skills. The incumbent must demonstrate courtesy
and patience in responding to customer inquiries and in instructing patients in product usage.
Data Utilization:
Ability to compile, copy, record and compute data. Ability to use descriptive data and
information such as general instructions, policies and procedures.
Equipment Utilization:
Ability to operate a Hazmat vehicle and standard office equipment including a telephone, copier
and calculator.
Ability to assemble and install durable medical equipment and equipment oxygen systems.
Ability to perform minor repair, maintenance and testing on equipment including stationary liquid
oxygen units, portable liquid oxygen units, concentrators and other durable medical equipment.
SR. DME DELIVERY TECHNICIAN
Mathematical Aptitude:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide to determine pounds of liquid per tank.
SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The position requires that the employee work equally indoors and outdoors.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather
conditions and is regularly exposed to inclement weather conditions and vibrations associated
with delivery tasks.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a patient home
environment and is regularly exposed to body wastes/fluids, infectious disease, dust, smoke
and odors.
The position poses some exposure to electrical currents associated with the set-up and
installation of equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is frequent as associated with filling of liquid tanks.

LIFT1 Lifts catalogs from shelf to load in van. Requires lifting 47 pounds from 58 inches
to floor and carrying 10 feet. Performs up to 2 times in 5 minutes.
LIFT2 Lifts cases of food to load on dolly. Requires lifting 32 pounds from floor to 30
inches. Performs up to 10 times in 5 minutes and 20 times per day.
LIFT3 Lifts dolly loaded with multiple cases of food weighing up to 112 pounds up a
flight of stairs.
LIFT4 Lifts oxygen concentrator to deliver. Requires lifting 50 pounds from 0 to 46
inches, Performs up to 4 times in 5 minutes and 8 times per day.
LIFT5 Lifts beds to disassemble and load. Requires lifting 100 or more pounds from 0
to 50 inches and carrying 10 feet. Performs up to 4 times in 5 minutes and 8
times per day.
LIFT6 Lifts liquid oxygen when picking up or delivering. Requires lifting 100 or more
pounds from 0 to 50 inches up to 4 times in 5 minutes and 8 times per day.
SR. DME DELIVERY TECHNICIAN
LIFT7 Lifts boxes while walking down ladder to stock van. Requires carrying 45-pound
box while walking down 8 10-inch rungs. Performs up to 3 times in 5 minutes
and 9 times per day.
LIFT8 Lifts boxes off shelf to load van. Requires lifting 45-pound box from 70 inches to
floor and to carry 45 pounds 30 feet. Performs up to 3 times in 5 minutes and 9
times per day.
PUSH Pushes broken wheelchairs to load in van. Requires a push force of up to 110
pounds for 10 feet. Performs up to 4 times in 5 minutes and times per day.
GRIP Grips when lifting heavy equipment and oxygen supplies. Requires frequent

STAIRS Walks up and down stairs when delivering. Requires ascending and descending
