Position/Internship Description

Graphic Design Intern (Marketing):
Your will assist in the layout and design of catalogs and magazine promotional pieces. Make design and type corrections to these promotions. Collect files when jobs are finished. Help out in photo studio preparing product shots. This will allow you the opportunity to understand what it takes to concept, design and lay out catalog pages and/or magazine promotion pieces from beginning to end; how the creative department works with marketing and other departments to complete a job. You will learn how to prioritize jobs according to deadlines.

Graphic Design Intern (Editorial):
You will work with artists and editors to come up with preliminary page design; small book products and/or interior pages of a larger book. You will design effective and attractive pages and learn color correction and how to prepare proofs for the printer. Depending on which internship you could be selected for you may also help select photos for publication, participate in a photo shoot, contribute to a book cover design and prepare layouts for our premedia department to go to our printer. Additional projects and duties will be assigned as necessary.

Qualifications:
• You must be enrolled and at a Junior or Senior status for consideration
• Graphic or Fine Arts major required
• Strong working knowledge of Mac-based graphics software, including QuarkXPress, Illustrator and PhotoShop
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize
• Respect and appreciation for the brands and their respective target demographics

You will need to submit 3 examples of published design work along with resume.
