ER. Wagner Mfg., Co. has a full-time position available in its engineering department for a mechanical design engineer. The individual hired will work closely with others in engineering, quality, manufacturing, sales, and customer representatives to produce stampings and stamped assemblies.

Job requirements:
• When given a design problem the candidate should be able to generate cost effective and manufacturable concepts to solve it.
• Must be able to develop mechanical design concepts and turn them into engineered, fully detailed, functioning designs that satisfy all design and performance criteria.
• Perform FEA on proposed design concepts using SolidWorks Simulation/COSMOS
• Prepare detailed mechanical drawings utilizing GD&T
• Position requires the candidate has a high attention to detail and is able to effectively manage their time to complete projects in a timely manner.

Education/Experience:
• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years experience in mechanical design with preference given to stampings and stamped assembly related experience.
• Minimum of 2,000 hours solid modeling experience required. SolidWorks experience is preferred.
• 1-2 years experience performing FEA
• Candidate must have a strong understanding of the stamping process and related tooling.
• Experience in stampings, stamped assemblies, stamping tooling design will be given priority over other design experience. Additional experience in plastics is a plus.

• Substantial 3D CAD design skills, preferably with SolidWorks (experience with or other 3D modeling software will be considered)
• Understanding of finite element theory
• Strong understanding of geometric tolerances, and general drafting practices.
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
