Mechanical Design Engineer

Midwest Products and Engineering Inc. (MPE) has focused on custom cart design for over 20 years to provide mobility solutions to leaders in the medical equipment and electronics industries. Our products and services have kept pace with their rapidly changing technologies and industry needs. Our success is indicated by the 150 employees working at our location in Northwest Milwaukee.

We are seeking a mechanical design engineer to join our professional team. This position works directly with our customers, MPE sales staff, and industrial design staff to create the mechanical design. Our engineers create detailed drawings necessary to manufacture parts at MPE’s facilities as well as at external suppliers. MPE engineers utilize the parts they’ve designed to build functional prototype units for customer evaluation. Engineers assist manufacturing on production pilot runs and are directly involved with Manufacturing during the entire design / build cycle. Responsibilities also include developing specialized tooling to fabricate parts, creating procedures and work instructions to ensure that all parts are fabricated accurately.


Our ideal candidate will have:

• Four year Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with an emphasis in mechanical design
• At least two years of experience in a manufacturing environment
With Sheet Metal fabrication a plus
• Proficiency in SolidWorks software
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
