We perform nightly cleaning at 35+ office buildings in the Fox Valley/Appleton area, and 100+ office buildings in the Madison area and currently have 330 employees. We clean offices of all sizes, some small enough to require only one employee, some requiring over 20. In Fox Valley, generally, we are looking for employees to work 2 to 4 hours per night, 5 nights per week (Mon-Fri). However, we do have different positions, shifts, and opportunities. Floaters work set hours like the rest of our employees but are assigned to a route each night based on our needs. As a result of this extra responsibility, Floaters earn more per hour than our general cleaners, but must be willing to work wherever we need them and in whatever role.

About the work we do: Our cleaners--we call them "Controllers"--work independently, performing basic cleaning tasks on one or more cleaning "routes." Most often, controllers work at buildings with other employees, but clean alone. Nightly tasks include: trash removal, dusting, spray-cleaning, restroom cleaning, dust-mopping, wet-mopping, cleaning entryways, stairwells and vacuuming. Other, more detailed items are completed on a weekly basis. Keep in mind that our jobs can be physically demanding. Some of our positions require lifting up to 25 pounds; a few require lifting up to 50 pounds.

What do we look for in our employees? We have found several challenges that often surprise people when they begin working as an office cleaner:

• Physical Work-Our jobs are more physically demanding than most people expect.
• Communication-Unlike many jobs, our employees are never in the same place at the same time. Utilizing good communication is vital to our success.
• Reliability-We work hard to balance required workloads with the scheduling needs of our employees. That said, employees are assigned set duties and we expect them to fulfill their commitment to complete the work as scheduled.
