| As a Breast Imaging Technologist, is able to perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations, all under the direction of the Lead Breast Imaging Technologist and/or the Supervisor. Takes an active role in breast health education. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include, but not limited to: Demonstrates competence and proficiency when performing screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.Must identify breast anatomy, distinguishing normal from abnormal to establish initial evaluation of radiographs. Performs clinical breast exams and educates patients in breast self-examination.Uses professional judgment to adapt imaging techniques to improve diagnostic quality. Evaluates the mammographic image for positioning, technique, artifacts and compression. Determines the need for repeat images. Obtains legible, concise breast health history on each mammogram patient. Provides Radiologists with pertinent patient history information when reviewing films. Demonstrates knowledge of ACR, FDA, and MQSA standards and regulations. This position is part of a three-tier career ladder position. Consideration of hiring a candidate into level II or III role with happen the appropriate level of experience. All three levels of job desecriptions will be shared during the employment interview process. | |
