Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for Electrical Engineering activities in support of power generator service, repair and electrical testing work.
Working with shop operations and project management staff to execute customer projects. Reverse Engineering, improvement design and analysis relating to generator stator and rotor electrical windings. Hands on work, in support of project execution and in close cooperation with other company operations and customers, are expected.Additionally, this position will be responsible for participation in bidding and proposal information development. This position will represent company's capability to customers through Marketing and Sales support activities.Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing, Sales and Proposal Development support.Definition of technical standards.Materials specification.Shop and jobsite technical support.Vendor qualification support.Technical liaison with customers for quotes or project work as well as with Alliance Partners and vendors.Electrical Engineering:
Participate as standing member to the Health and Safety Committee.Insulation system specifications – process specification and qualification.Electrical testing including high voltage testing – procedure preparation, qualification, equipment specification and interpretation of test results.Rotor coil design and specification of manufacturing requirements.Stator rewind and repair – specification of requirements.Generator operational diagnostics evaluation and analysis.Generator repair development, diagnostic evaluation and analysis.Qualifications:
Knowledgeable in the use of Pac’s and PC application software is necessary.Familiarity with and application of AutoCAD and Solid Works is desirable. Ability to travel for short periods to job sites throughout North America and Internationally.Education and Experience:
Minimum four-year college degree is required with 5 + years experience in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering AND experience in power generation equipment.Applicable work experience will be considered in lieu of advance degrees or direct experience in Electrical/Mechanical design of power generating equipment.
