Position Description
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide 25 weekly hours of (primarily) individual and some family or group therapy to a minimum monthly caseload of 30 clients, in an outpatient setting.
To provide approximately 15 weekly hours of psychotherapy to children and adolescents in a medical day treatment setting.
To manage the day to day operations of the mental health outpatient clinic.
To provide limited clinical supervision of treatment staff in some residential facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To provide highly compassionate, effective, and ethical psychotherapy services to adults and children with significant psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders.
2. To accurately bill all outpatient services through Wisconsin Medicaid, Medicaid HMOs, Third Party Payers, and/or other funding sources.
3. To provide a seamless transition children/adolescents currently being served from a medical day treatment program into an outpatient treatment program.
4. To interview, assess, refer, admit, and establish prior authorization for children/adolescents transitioning from medical day treatment to outpatient services.
5. To maintain a minimum caseload of 8 consumers at medical day treatment program/week and 15 consumers in outpatient clinic/week. This is a minimum caseload and can be changed determined by program needs.
6. To complete assessments, treatment plans, and prior authorizations within specified timeframes to ensure that billing can consistently be completed and so that charts have all necessary documentation.
7. To keep progress notes on all psychotherapy sessions and collateral contacts.
8. To process referrals from outside stakeholders and funding sources in a timely manner and in a fashion in accordance with company policies and procedures.
9. To receive clinical supervision in accordance with HFS 61 and maintain required documentation for him/herself and other therapists.
10. Help ensure each client’s treatment plan identifies expected outcomes and that services are sufficient and targeted to meet client needs described for the assessment.
11. Will assist the clinic director in the following manner:
a. Ensuring that all program license, certificates, contracts are current and in compliance with Federal, State, County, City, and licensing regulations.
b. Ensuring that the Outpatient Clinic program maintains a health system of QA that operates within accreditation/Phoenix Care Systems guidelines and adheres to all established policies and procedures and CARF requirements.
c. Maintaining healthy relationships/image with all parties/departments affiliated with the Outpatient Clinic. This includes parents, guardians, outside agencies, referents, funding board, etc.
d. Coordination, distribution and assignment of psychotherapy cases to clinicians.
12. Provide 1-2 hours/week of clinical supervision to CBRF Treatment staff in accordance with HFS 34.
13. Maintain current licensure.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A. Masters Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Community Mental Health, Art Therapy, Psychology, or Psychiatric Nursing.
B. Maintain State DHFS 3000 hours Provider Status and have Medicaid Provider Number for purposes of billing.
C. Eligibility to and/or attainment of State Licensure as Psychotherapist (Have or within 1 year of hire) or a LCSW.
D. One year supervisory experience preferred in human services.
E. Two years experience in a clinical setting directly providing therapy to children, adult individuals, and/or groups.
F. Experience working with clients with serious and persistent mental illness and developmental disabilities.
G. Experience working with children with psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders.

TRAINING:
A. Complete all orientation and annual training with Phoenix Care Systems to be in accordance with HFS 34 and HFS 40.
B. Complete/keep records of CEs and CEUs in accordance with State Licensure Requirements (including Ethics and Boundaries requirements).
