Job Summary:

The UW-Madison Teacher Education Center seeks an experienced Outreach Program Manager to focus on developing and sustaining partnerships with K-12 schools and community sites. Generative and reciprocal partnerships are key to the mission and vision of teacher preparation at UW-Madison. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about, and experienced in, establishing meaningful partnerships. The person in this role will work with TEC leadership, faculty, and staff to nurture and expand partnerships with teachers, as well as with school and district leaders at local K-12 school districts. Additionally, the Outreach Program Manager will assist in coordination of teacher education recruitment efforts and alumni outreach. Demonstrated dedication to collaboration and relationship-building is a must, along with strong project management skills and ability to navigate institutional complexities.

Responsibilities: Provides guidance for program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and/or supervises outreach staff. Monitors budget and appropriate funding for programming. Promotes stable and productive relationships between the university and community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
  • 15% Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
  • 30% Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan
  • 5% Monitors the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures
  • 25% Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services
  • 15% Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan
  • 10% May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees

Qualifications:

Required:
-Ability to work collaboratively with multiple partners and across programs
-Experience in event planning and/or recruiting
-Excellent communication skills
-Experience developing and sustaining partnerships

Preferred:
-Experience working in PK-12 schools
-Experience working with pre-service teachers, alumni, community partners
-Experience in mentorship or facilitating professional development for educators
-Supervisory and budget experience

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $65,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
