How your role fits into Boldt:

Our Systems Administrator I is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of our computer systems and servers. A key component of this role is installing hardware and software and participating in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of our organization. Success in this role is demonstrated by actively resolving problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.


Required Skills

What you get to do:

* Install, maintain, configure, update, and ensure reliable operation of server systems including Windows servers, Linux, and backend storage.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues including permissions, print services, and backup and restore operations.
* Administers Active Directory and related services, including Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
* Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud systems to include Entra ID user and group administration, Exchange distribution groups, enterprise application management, and SharePoint administration.
* Work with users and other team members to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with environment and applications running in the environment.
* Resolve issues with hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
* Administer the virtual server environment including management of the host systems, creation and removal of guest server systems, hardware and software upgrades and related storage systems.
* Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
* Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
* Work closely with the Senior Systems Administrator and other members of the Systems & Network team to ensure that systems operate securely, reliably, and effectively.
* Provide level 3 support as needed


Required Experience

What we expect from you:

* Associate/two-year degree or bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Science, System Administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
* Server administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus.
* Solid understanding of virtualization, VMWare, AHV or equivalent.
* Training and experience in Microsoft Active Directory and Azure administration including Exchange, Entra ID, licensing management, and security administration.
* Basic scripting skills.
* Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
* Effectively developing and implementing helpdesk and server best practices.
* Self-motivated; ability to efficiently prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong customer service orientation.
* Excellent communication and listening skills needed; excellent written and verbal skills - needs to be able to summarize and communicate technical information to non-technical users.
* Have strong prioritization and decision-making skills; ability to understand the overall big picture yet focus on and complete details well.
* Willing to work outside of business hours when needed for system changes.
* Passion for solving problems - ability to do so timely and accurately - and driven to follow-through to resolution.
* Demonstrate ability to handle highly confidential and vital information.
* Professional and positive demeanor with internal and external customers.
* Ability to resolve connectivity issues, assist users, and debug problems effectively.

Physical requirements and working conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for up to eight hours. The employee occasionally is required to move to access people or workspaces. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer. The ability to optimally communicate is required. The employee may occasionally move up to 15 pounds.

The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work inside an office environment. The environment for which this position functions may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.
