What does the job involve?

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the GM/VP of Operations, develops policies, procedures and objectives for the operation of the Supply Chain process in accordance with organizational objectives. Obtains necessary purchases at lowest cost consistent with approved quality and delivery standards. Recommends improvements in overall purchasing program which will advance the interests of the organization. Responsible for the timely procurement of materials, supplies, services, and equipment of required quality and at the best price advantage to the company. Establish supply sources, negotiate purchases as to price, specifications, terms delivery date, etc. Approve purchase requisitions and vendors' invoices. Guide and direct planners in support of shop floor execution of OTD to our customers. Drive actions resulting in "right sized" inventory, including MRO/Tooling/ RM/ WIP and FG inventory management strategies.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Plans and directs entire supply chain to meet organizational requirements, utilizing MRP and other tools to ensure raw material is available as needed to production while minimizing on hand inventory at all times.

Develops additional or alternate sources of supply for important materials. Secures sources of supply for new or improved materials and maintains a list of acceptable vendors.

Handles negotiations with suppliers on all conflicts or questions on prices, deliveries, and specifications.

Keeps informed of all new developments relative to materials and supplies, and makes recommendations designed to reduce cost and improve methods.

Works with production, engineering, and other departments in the development of equipment, product specifications, and substitute materials.

Visit vendors to investigate facilities, capacity, and ability to meet quality requirements, specifications, and delivery dates.

Analyzes quotations received, negotiates with suppliers, selects or recommends suppliers with whom

orders are to be placed.

Obtains materials and services from suppliers at lowest cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need.

Prepares purchase orders and follows up order to expedite delivery and shipment.

Obtains certifications of delivery and conducts check against order.

Checks and approves invoices for payment.

Direct and perform follow-up work on orders placed to ensure vendors' compliance with terms to purchase.

Works with suppliers and the shipping department with problem resolution.

Adheres to TS policies and procedures pertaining to purchasing.

Drive supply chain projects such as inventory control, work order variance, Kanban management, cost reduction plans and other continuous improvement projects.

Direct Annual Inventory of RM/ WIP/ FG as well as manage inventory on a daily basis.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

BS Business or Technical degree

Minimum of 5 years related purchasing/sourcing experience. Experience conducting cycle count and annual inventories.

Management experience preferred.

Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Strong ERP/ Microsoft Excel skills.

Ability to manage several projects at one time.

Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 & AS9100 quality processes, Lean manufacturing.

Benefits are effective the first of the month after your date of hire. You will qualify for nine (9) paid holidays per year on a prorated basis and will earn 15 vacation days (120 hours) annually. Your vacation will be prorated and accrue 2.31 hours per week. Company paid basic life insurance equal to 2x annual salary and option to buy additional benefit coverage.

This offer is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening, physical exam, as well as proof of legal authorization to work in the United States.
