Overview

Under the direct supervision of the EMS Business Manager provides education and training to all disciplines of emergency care providers.
Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates attributes of a professional educator: Self-motivation, effective communication, effective time management, team focused, organization, knowledgeable, prepared, confident, respectful, student advocate.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide quality instruction in all learning domains: Cognitive, Psychomotor and Affective.
  • Applies the principles of Adult Learning in the classroom.
  • Demonstrates the ability to set clear and obtainable goals and objective for course participants and then monitor and evaluate student progress according to state, overseeing agency and/or department criteria
  • Engages the learner and provides well timed and effective feedback
  • Develop training curriculum and material for EMS training programs
  • Teach at varied time and places using varied formats based on student demand: Day or evening, main campus, mobile Sim lab or on site of students' employment.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with students, customers and Mercy Partners of all disciplines.

Education and Experience

Have attained an Associate's Degree or at least 60 Associate's Degree level or higher college credits;
Minimum 3 years of full-time or at least 6,000 hours, occupational experience as a certified law enforcement officer in the state of Wisconsin or another state
Minimum 6-12 months of Adult education experience in curriculum development, facilitation & evaluation.


Certification and Licensure

Current State of Wisconsin or State of Illinois Certified Law Enforcement Officer or 15 years of experience as a State of Wisconsin or State of Illinois Certified Law Enforcement officer
Certified State of Wisconsin or State of Illinois General Law Enforcement Instructor preferred
Certified State of Wisconsin or State of Illinois Topic Specific Instructor preferred:

For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles:
Maintain a valid driver's license.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.

For those driving their personal vehicles:
Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.


Skills and Abilities
Other Qualifications
Must be willing to travel off site for educational presentations 50%of the time

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, customers or employees.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, including development of Power Points for the classroom
