We are looking for an engineer to design, develop and deploy calibration and test instrumentation systems for Apple's world class products. This engineer will work closely with multi-functional groups (Design, ME, EE, SW, Ops etc) throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase to ensure the success of current and future Apple products. Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years professional experience in design, development, debug, validation and working with electro-mechanical systems
  • Proven understanding of consumer electronics modules like - transducers (sensors - light/force/pressure/touch/motion, acoustics - speaker/mic) or input/output ports (USBC) or optical systems (camera, Lidar) or Displays
  • Understanding of hardware concepts. (i.e. HW architecture, block diagrams and schematic design, debug interfaces, etc.), EE fundamentals
  • Programming skills in one or more of the following: C/C++/Objective-C and scripting knowledge (Python, Lua)
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) and control systems
  • Experience analyzing and processing large data sets


Description

You will be responsible for the design specification, bring up, validation and deployment of automated instrumentation to calibrate and test Apple's products through NPI and mass production. Responsibilities will be tuned to match the candidate's technical background, but you may be encouraged to: Architect hardware for instrument systems, develop them, and maintain those systems through production Work with our mechanical engineering team to specify and validate the required mechanical fixtures & automation systems Develop, debug, and optimize automation software Analyze large amounts of data generated from your instrument systems and adopt data-driven approaches to solving engineering challenges Perform failure mode root cause analysis and resolution, debugging from the system level down to the component level Work closely with Apple EE, product design, firmware, operations, and logistics teams. Frequent interactions with CM/vendors and developing SOPs, debug instructions, documentation is part of R&R

Education & Experience

BS, MS in Engineering or related discipline.

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $48.66 and $84.09/hr, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
