Safeguarding the financial health of our clients and Abarca is of the upmost importance! Our Finance team ensures that our financial systems are managed and running smoothly. Inside the Finance and Accounting team we have experts who handle our reporting costs, bookkeeping, financial statements and general cashflow.

As an Associate Financial Analyst you will play a crucial role in supporting our financial analysis and reporting needs. You will monitor key financial metrics, contribute to business metric reporting, and provide insightful analyses to assist in decision-making for senior management. Your work will involve consolidating and analyzing financial data, assisting with financial planning, and ensuring clarity and accuracy in financial reporting. You'll support internal clients in managing their budget through timely delivery of reports and ad hoc analysis

The fundamentals for the job...

  • Assists in analyzing the company's performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted, and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making.
  • Assists in maintaining the integrity of accounting and budgeting software systems by checking for errors and inconsistencies.
  • Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information
  • Prepare and update analyses to validate assumptions for budget and forecast preparation.
  • Supports the FP&A analysts in fulfilling internal customer reporting requests.
  • Prepares monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

What we expect of you:

The bold requirements...

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Instead of a degree, equivalent relevant experience may be considered.)
  • 1+ years Experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience at intermediate and above level with Excel (Pivot Tables, IF Formulas, VLookUps, XLookUps, etc.)
  • Experience with employing business analysis and attention to detail to reporting, statements, and accounting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • We are proud to offer a flexible hybrid work model which will require certain on-site work days (Puerto Rico Location Only)

Nice to haves...

  • Big 4 firm, public company, PBM, or healthcare industry experience.
  • Experience with reporting and data analysis tools like Power BI, Tableau, and SQL.
  • CPA, MBA or other certifications.

Physical requirements...

  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
