Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Mechanical Reliability Engineer for our facility in Monticello, MS. This position will work with other departments to develop and execute strategies to increase the equipment reliability.

Georgia-Pacific Monticello is a fully integrated containerboard mill that employs 450 employees and continues to benefit from extensive capital investment. Monticello, Mississippi, is an hour South of Jackson, MS, and an hour Northwest of Hattiesburg, MS.

Our reliability team hosts a vast array of backgrounds who all work together to improve the reliability of our facility. Electricians, electrical service technicians, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, mechanical integrity inspectors, vibration technicians, hydraulic specialists, and others who have moved into roles to help drive our reliability efforts. We have developed strong electrical infrastructure, mechanical integrity, and vibration programs to support equipment reliability.



What You Will Do

  • Integrate best maintenance technologies into predictive, preventative, and condition-based maintenance programs
  • Provides reliability support for capital and expense projects
  • Provide support to operations areas with an emphasis on short and long-term reliability improvements
  • Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement with asset and site reliability
  • Participate and lead Root Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) efforts to identify root causes of complex and/or repetitive problems and put in place executable corrective actions
  • Develop, implement, and support preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment (vibration analysis, lubrication program, oil analysis, ultrasonic, infrared, NDT, thermography, MCE testing, and precision maintenance)


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, OR mechanical reliability experience in an industrial manufacturing, oil & gas, or military environment (i.e., Quality Inspector, Certified Weld Inspector, etc.)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Pulp and Paper industry experience
  • Vibration data collection and analysis experience in an industrial setting.
  • Certification or continued education in reliability applications, practices, and management
  • Experience with Reliability Improvement tools (Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Preventative/Predictive maintenance, KPIs Six Sigma experience or certification
