Georgia-Pacific Gypsum is seeking qualified professionals to be considered for our Entry-Level Engineer role to support the energetic team at our new Wallboard Operations Plant located in Sweetwater. TX.

If you have a passion for learning and developing capabilities to help advance our team's mission and goals this is the role for you. This position with Georgia-Pacific is designed for aspiring and entry-level engineers who are seeking expedited training, professional development/mentorship, exposure to operations leadership, and career growth. This role will help support innovation, process efficiency, equipment reliability, quality assurance, and more with an overarching focus on compliance, safety & health throughout the Dixie Jackson facility.

Our leadership team is seeking talent from many disciplines including (but not limited to):

  • Process Control Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering

Engineers will generally be placed into roles such as Process Engineer, Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Process Control Engineer, etc. Specific job duties/responsibilities are dependent upon the role and location offered.

What You Will Do

  • Embrace influential leadership to support the organization while advancing our Principle-Based Management (PBM) culture.
  • Work closely with engineers and operators to troubleshoot process, quality, and equipment issues and evaluate and implement improvement ideas.
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis process and corrective actions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with the work system team to review and analyze loss analysis and asset tracking data to identify equipment reliability and performance issues (gap analysis) and assist with the development of improvement plans.
  • Assist with the troubleshooting of operational issues and analyze efficiency and equipment reliability data.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Enrolled in or have recently completed an Engineering degree program and eligible for full-time employment.
  • Able to work in the US without sponsorship.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience.
