Job Description

Work Schedule:

This is a part time, 0.6 FTE position. Week 1 you will be scheduled Tuesday, 8:00 AM -5:30 PM, Thursday, 7:30 AM -5:30 PM and Saturday, 7:30 AM -2:30 PM. Week 2 you will be scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Patient Access Representative - Ambulatory to:

  • Enter and verify demographic and insurance information, identify and collect patient financial obligations, and register or admit patients.
  • Promote a positive patient and family experience, exhibit empathy, engage in compassionate collections, and demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • Cover a variety of clinic locations and hours as needed.

Education:

Minimum - High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred - Associate's Degree in Business, Finance. Health Information Management or related field

Work Experience:

Minimum - One (1) year of experience in a customer service related field

Preferred - One (1) year of experience in a healthcare, call center, business, financial or insurance related field

- UW Health's new state-of-the-art ambulatory facility will transform the patient experience and offer cutting-edge proton therapy. This 469,000-square-foot ambulatory facility will house many specialties, including women's complex care, adult cancer care, advanced imaging and laboratory services and innovative clinical trials. It will be located across from East Madison Hospital on Eastpark Blvd. and is slated to open in fall 2024.
