Job Title: Wordings Team Leader, Management Liability Global

Division: Specialty Risks

Reports To: Head of Wordings, Specialty Risks

Key Relationships: Business Management, Specialty Risks Underwriters, Compliance, Innovation and Product Development and all other relevant stakeholders

Job Summary: Provide underwriting and wordings support to assigned Specialty Risks teams or focus groups and coverage support across Specialty Risks and other Beazley trading teams as necessary. Ownership of the Executive Risk product suite.

Location: London, NYC, Chicago

Salary for this role in the US, will be tailored to the successful individual's location and experience. The expected compensation range for this position is $150 - $185k per year plus discretionary annual bonus. You will be able to discuss your

salary expectations should you be contacted about this role, whether based in the UK or the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary focus is on drafting policy wordings and endorsements to support business/underwriting objectives of the Management Liability Focus Groups globally (large risk and middle market)., US Coverage experience would be an advantage.
  • Line manage direct reports.
  • Assist with regulatory projects where there is wordings impact.
  • Assist the focus groups in addressing coverage issues raised in the underwriting and negotiation process to assist in successful closing of business opportunities.
  • Assist the focus groups in achieving sales and service goals by providing high quality and timely response to queries raised.
  • Providing support and advice on underwriting, product development, and coverage issues.
  • If qualified, review confidentiality agreements, warranty statements and other agreements as needed for US/UK/RoW Speciality Risks Underwriters in order to engage in the underwriting process.
  • Assist Specialty Risks underwriters in addressing bespoke coverage requests; requires interaction with Brokers, Insureds, other key external stakeholders (e.g. external counsel).
  • Support the trading team to facilitate an organised knowledge management and sharing process.
  • Coordinate projects and work collaboratively with other key stakeholders internally, including but not limited to Compliance, Claims, Conduct Risk, UW Controls and Operations, Beazley Digital, Specialty Risks, Marketing and IT.
  • Monitor competitive landscapes for the continuous improvement or wordings and underwriting controls.
  • Participate in Team/Focus Group business planning, away days, broker/client meetings and other marketing events, as required and appropriate.
  • Provide assistance with additional projects and/or legal services (if qualified) for Business Management, Beazley Digital, Specialty Risks or other Beazley teams, as needed.
  • Monitor claims developments and impact of wording on claims.
  • Where applicable, participation in US Product Development and Product Delivery process which includes: product development, drafting, addressing questions and objections from state departments of insurance when necessary for US platform products.
  • Where applicable, work on admitted filings and supporting the filing process for wordings and endorsements.
