From your PASSION to ours

The Maintenance Welder and Fabricator is responsible for a variety of tasks that requires knowledge on welding, fabricating, supporting all departments of a cheese plant.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

* Support and assist maintenance EMT's with emergency breakdowns and daily work.

* Support plant departments through corrective maintenance and projects.

* Operate shop equipment and machinery with acceptable precision and accuracy.

* Pipefitting, including installation, repair, replacement.

* Check stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed equipment, parts and supplies; place requests to Maintenance Buyer for needed parts and then verify receipt of.

* Complete reasonable job layouts and ordering of materials necessary to complete job.

* Accurately complete work orders and PMs in Maximo, including checking out of parts.

* Maintain, clean and organize work area.

* Maintain open line of communication with co-workers and managers.

* Attend departmental meetings and training as assigned by the supervisor and/or manager.

* Perform other work duties as assigned.

* Maintain production aids for production.


The ideal candidate must have the following attributes/skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus ), able to push/pull/lift and carry at least 50 pounds occasionally and 100 pounds with assistance, be able to stand for entire shift, be able to perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching, climbing) and must be able to work over 40 hours per week (weekends are required). Possess values of ambition and engagement, with simplicity.


Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education & Experience
* Trade School level of welding or equivalent.

* Previous employment in a food industry setting is preferred

* Stable work history required

Specialized Knowledge

* Computer software and basic mathematical skills are required (must be able to convert US to metric, read a tape measure, caliper and micrometer)

Skills / Abilities

* Troubleshooting, critical thinking, and complex problem solving is a priority

* Ability to perform routine welding and fabrication for production and packaging equipment

* Ability to work in a food industry or manufacturing environment

* English Language- ability to effectively communicate verbally and written

Sign On Bonus & Pay

We are offering a $2,000* Hiring Bonus to new hires for hourly positions. *Bonus amount is a gross amount. $1,000 will be paid out in the paycheck following 90 days of active employment; an additional $1,000 will be paid out in the paycheck following 180 days of active employment. Temporary, part-time and certain rehired employees are not eligible. *Attendance and performance rules apply.

Base Pay: $30.20 to $33.30/hour, dependent upon skills and experience. Weekend premium: 20% more ($6.04/hour to $6.66/hour). Lactalis offers very competitive pay, benefits and paid time off.
