Fincantieri Marine Group currently has an opportunity for a Corporate Travel Counselor at the Green Bay, Wisconsin location.

Position Summary

The Fincantieri Marine Group (FMG) Corporate Travel Counselor is responsible for all aspects of travel arrangements for our multinational dynamic Group. This includes conversing with travelers through multiple communication mediums to determine destination, mode of transportation, travel dates, financial consideration and accommodations required based on company policy. The consultant will also be responsible for booking and issuing domestic and international airline itineraries, hotel reservations and car and train reservations through an in-house GDS system and more.

Essential Skills and Functions

The primary responsibility of the Corporate Travel Counselor is to manage the day to day travel requests coming from the Business Units. Responsibilities include:

  • Answer calls and emails promptly from travelers who are requesting new travel arrangements or changes to existing itineraries and provide prompt customer service.
  • Book and issue airline, hotel, car and other tour reservations through GDS system, accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain sufficient account knowledge to assist clients without delay.
  • Check queue's daily to ensure accuracy and that all issued tickets are complete.
  • Maintain programs such as preferred vendors, Waiver/ Favors,
  • Communicate effectively with team members to solve problems and gather information.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with company travelers.
  • Provide travel expertise to clients.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills
  • Must have strong organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanor
  • All employees are required to adhere to ISO and OHSAS policies established by FMG and shall have high values for safety awareness
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience required
  • Travel Agent Certification preferred
  • GDS experience preferred

Skills

  • Familiarity with Concur helpful, but not required.
  • Proficient with city, airline, hotel and car rental codes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to consistently deliver excellent customer service, internally and externally.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent computer and typing skills, which includes the ability to navigate between programs.
  • Ability to identify a problem and see it through to resolution with minimal supervision
