Beloit Memorial High School is seeking an energetic and highly thorough individual to join a fastpaced administrative team. Under the supervision of the High School Principal, the ideal candidate will have previous athletic director or extensive coaching experience. The candidate will be responsible for managing student discipline, staff evaluations, directing district wide athletic programs, clubs and extracurricular programs; scheduling and coordinating middle and high school athletic programs while contributing to the mission, vision and academic achievement of BMHS students and families. This is a high energy position that requires a high degree of organization and accountability. The ideal candidate will serve in an important administrative role supporting the building principal, athletic initiatives, and the needs of student athletes while accomplishing the strategic goals of the school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate and manage all athletic teams, extracurricular program and clubs at the high school level and intermediate schools.
  2. Support all club and extracurricular activities on an ongoing basis.
  3. Responsible for athletic and activities scheduling, coordinating and organizing facilities and events hosted by BMHS and/or WIAA.
  4. Responsible for all staffing and hiring of coaches and other athletic staff. Will also appropriately manage staff and programs through an evaluation process.
  5. Assist in the bid process and procurement of athletic sports equipment for all athletic programs.
  6. Manage budgets for individual teams/clubs as well as the overall athletic budget for the school. Will monitor all expenditures, income and donations.
  7. Work collaboratively with appropriate administrative staff at the schools and central office to ensure smoother operations and systems to support school improvement.
  8. Serve as a resource for coaches, counselors and families regarding rules and regulations of the SDB Board Policy 377 Interscholastic Athletics (including Rule 1 & 2 Secondary Schools Athletic Code 712) , WIAA, NCAA and NCAA Clearinghouse to support student athletes that desire to participate in athletics at the collegiate level.
  9. Supports coaches in monitoring and tracking student achievement to develop and support the necessary interventions for athletes that may be atrisk.
  10. Create a system of communication between the school, students, parents and the community to involve all stakeholders as it pertains to athletics, clubs and student achievement.
  11. With the support of the SLC Commissioner, supervise and support officials at athletic events.
  12. Responsible for the coordination of athletic/club facilities, operations and security of events.
  13. Must be interactive with other SLC conference athletic directors to support the needs of the conference based on WIAA standards.
  14. Ability to facilitate stakeholder's involvement in shared decision making
  15. Serve as a member of the Administrative Team
  16. Various Supervisory Responsibilities
  17. Monitor and support student discipline, attendance, and interventions
  18. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Candidate must have a bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
  • Four years experience as an athletic director or extensive coaching experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills Desirable Skills
  • Principal license but not necessary
  • Experience working in an urban educational setting with diverse students and staff
  • Experience with assessing data regarding student achievement, attendance, discipline and other areas related to students and athletics
  • Knowledge of WIAA standards and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to develop fundraising and external booster club activities
  • Strong ability to work with school administrators, teachers, coaches, students, community, vendors, public officials and parents. This a full time permanent position based on a 52 week calendar. Salary offers are based on education/experience
