The Lead Registered Nurse (RN) functions as a member of the clinic's patient care team that includes medical assistants (MA), technicians, experience specialists, physician assistants (PA), nurse practitioners (NP), and physicians. The lead RN will oversee clinical staff and operations and will assist the clinic administrator in the overall functions of clinic operations, in the absence of the clinic administrator. The lead RN performs technical, patient-related functions in the ambulatory setting. The lead RN assists the provider to ensure optimal patient care within established nursing standards and scope of practice. The lead RN provides leadership and direction to clinical staff and delegates tasks that are appropriate to optimize patient care. The lead RN will support clinic operations and deliver patient care focusing on safe, quality care to ensure that UnityPoint Health's FOCUS values are met.

Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nurses.
Minimum of 2 years nursing practice
Minimum of 1 year working in an outpatient clinic setting
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Wisconsin
Current BLS certification
Knowledge of day-to-day operation of ambulatory clinic setting
Understands the nursing process and can apply to patient care, optimizing patient outcomes
Understands and supervises delegated tasks to unlicensed personnel
Enjoys working with variety of patient ages and conditions/diagnosis
Excellent organizational, internal, and external service excellence skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to present oneself as a professional
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with multiple priorities
Ability to work well independently and within teams
Ability to prioritize work in an efficient manner
Ability to recognize and respond to urgent needs in a timely manner
Preferred Qualifications:
BSN
Experience in committee membership and participation
1-2 years of supervisory experience
Telephone triage experience and protocol development
Knowledge of Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) System
Prior knowledge/experience working with regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, Joint Commission
