Due to growth, we are adding this Lead, Quality Assurance to our IT Department

We are unable to offer remote work to residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

The QA Lead will play a crucial role in the successful implementation of several software projects and help develop a QA strategy applicable to all users/applications. Reporting to the Director of I.T, this individual will lead a team of QAs and function as a player/coach to drive the QA strategy for Lumicera.

The QA Lead is a pivotal role in our large- scale IT modernization project, focusing on the effective planning, coordination, and execution of comprehensive testing strategies. This position demands a highly skilled individual with exceptional experience in Azure DevOps, AWS or other cloud platforms and a proven track record in developing advanced testing frameworks using modernized tools.

How do I make an impact on my team?

  • Develop and implement a robust testing strategy encompassing all aspects of the modernization project.
  • Participate in teams to develop comprehensive test strategies, plans, impact analysis, specifications, and test cases for effective assurance and testing functions.
  • Author test cases/scripts and execution plans for both project and support-related activities.
  • Design and implement automated test plans to streamline testing processes.
  • Provide oversight to ensure automation test suites are well-maintained and operational.
  • Utilize tools like Azure DevOps for test automation, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Plan and execute performance and stress tests to evaluate system stability and scalability.
  • Analyze test results and provide insights for system enhancements and optimizations.
  • Provide accurate estimates for QA efforts including test case design/scripting, test execution, and defect correction.
  • Identify opportunities to improve application code quality by increasing unit and integration test coverage.
  • Contribute to and define best practices, processes, scorecards, KPIs, and tools for the QA organization ensuring overall productivity and quality is always measured and improved in line with targeted milestones

What our team expects from you?

  • Bachelors in computer science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline or equivalent Information Technology experience.
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure Dev Ops
  • Experience and knowledge of Test Management principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Familiarity with project mgmt. approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Experience with large-scale modernization project.
  • 4+ years of experience in Leading QA teams
  • 5+ years of experience developing and executing SOA / API automated test scripts using modern QA Frameworks
  • 5+ years of experience working with automated test frameworks and CICD Integration using GitHub.
  • 5+ years of experience with test case management and test case management tools
  • 5+ years of experience utilizing risk-based testing techniques.
  • 5+ years of experience with defect management and using defect management tools like JIRA.
  • 5+ years of experience managing test environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with defect management and using defect management tools like JIRA.
  • 5+ years of experience managing test environments
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees
