Provides direct patient care in Physical Therapy and performs other related duties to assure smooth, coordinated running of the department within the pediatric Inpatient, Outpatient, and Clinics.

Essential Functions and Minimum Requirements

  • Identifies, diagnoses, and treats patients with a wide variety of disabilities. Participates in program planning, development and implementation.

  • Participates in Quality Improvement.

  • Counsels and instructs patients/families and medical professionals involved with the patient's rehabilitative needs, monitors patient progress, ensures that recommendations are followed.

  • Maintains clinical records according to established procedures.

  • Current Physical Therapy license with the State of Wisconsin. Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required.

  • Doctorate or master's degree in physical therapy preferred. Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.

  • Prefer a minimum of 1 year clinical experience in the pediatric field or sports medicine field of Physical Therapy. Will accept new graduates.

  • Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, over 80% of the assigned work period and lift and position patients weighing up to 75 pounds.

This position is 40 hours, 1.0 FTE Sports Physical Therapy position working in Pediatric Sports Medicine clinic in Mequon. Role involves treatment of typically developing patient population 8-21 year old's with sports and orthopedic injuries including but not limited to post-surgical rehab, fractures, growth and overuse related injuries, trauma, spine, sports specific rehab and concussion. Opportunity for collaboration with broader sports med team including surgeons, primary care sports med, athletic trainers and sports PT's at other regional clinics. Looking for candidates with strong interest in sports medicine rehab with potential for occasional on-field coverage for interested applicants. Youth/adolescent sports medicine and orthopedic background strongly desired, with additional pediatric experience potentially including coaching, teaching, mentoring. Work schedule options are below with a mutually agreed upon schedule at the time of hire to meet clinician and patient care needs - providing before and after school appointments to support the clinic.
