Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements: Basic First aid training is provided. Special Education Aide Program License with the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is required. The only requirement to apply is that you must be at least 18 years of age. The DPI has an easy online application process for this license and our Human Resources Office is happy to assist you in this process. Once you are hired with our district as a Special Education Educational Assistant, the school district will pay for this license.
Physical Requirements: This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; no special vision is required; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; this work does not require any specialized sensory utilization
