LAKELAND COLLEGE, an independent liberal arts college related to the United Church of Christ and located on a scenic rural campus near Lake Michigan in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, seeks qualified candidates for the above position. Reporting to the Senior Director of Admissions, the qualified candidate will join a team who counsel prospective students and families on academic programs and admission policies, meet with high school counselors, process and evaluate applications, and provide financial aid counseling. This person will represent the college at internal events such as preview days, enrollment events, and private visits and at external events such as college fairs, high school visits, and other admission related presentations. Conducting telephone, email, and social media recruitment follow-up is an integral component of this position. Frequent travel and evening/weekend work should be expected. As Assistant Director, this position will also be responsible for coordinating scholarship competition programming on campus.
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Experience in post-secondary recruitment or other student-centric related work is required. Excellent communication skills are a must for this position and the qualified candidate will also possess a strong work ethic, be well organized and detail oriented, and be a self starter with the ability to work independently yet also be a team player. The candidate must also possess proficiency in Microsoft Office, a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and availability for frequent overnight travel.
