The Rowland Reading Program includes The Superkids, a core K-2 reading program, and Happily Ever After, a reading readiness program. Forty years ago, a teacher, Pleasant Rowland was frustrated by the classroom materials she was given to use. She searched for a solution to help students learn to read. After studying the literature of leading developmental psychologists, reading experts, and education theorists, she created a phonics-based reading program that integrated reading, spelling, listening and speaking.
