Our Story
Settlers bank was created in response to a need. As business encounters change at an ever-increasing pace, the need for local, independent banking options has grown. Settlers bank was created to work with businesses to achieve success by offering companies the tools and technologies to rapidly adapt and remain competitive.

The Vision
A group of established business owners and entrepreneurs understood the challenges businesses and their owners encounter. They sought to present customized solutions to others by opening a bank staffed with seasoned professionals and equipped with dynamic and innovative systems. This group of organizers understood that visionary leadership, deeply entrenched in the market, would be necessary to bring this dream to fruition.

The Leadership
Thomas E. Spitz and David M. Fink, CEO and President respectively, brought the leadership skills and experience needed to set the foundations for Settlers bank. With more than 50 years of combined banking experience, and diverse successes in the entrepreneurial world, this team had a deep understanding of the various industries in the region. Tom and David understood that access to decision-makers and timely decisions are of the utmost importance to business operations. They invited other experienced bankers to join the Settlers bank team as co-owners, and set the stage for a creative and innovative workplace.

The Realization
Settlers bank opened its doors in 2007. Yet, we continue to improve and build our products and services to enhance each customer's experience. Our Board of Directors is still comprised of leaders in various industries. Our staff continues to develop our broad understanding of the Madison region and markets across Wisconsin through ongoing education, service, and interaction. And, while providing financial services for business is our primary focus, we understand that every business owner and employee has personal financial goals as well.
