About the Bureau The nonpartisan Legislative Technology Services Bureau (LTSB) is the single point of responsibility for providing technological services and support for the Wisconsin Legislature and its service agencies. LTSB provides a complete range of information technology services. This includes: enterprise-level consulting in the areas of office automation, payroll and accounting, constituent database support, Internet access, bill drafting, statute production, administrative code, legislative document publication, and demographic and geographic analysis.

LTSB Teams Administration Team The Administration Team is responsible for all administrative functions at the LTSB. These functions include accounts payable, accounts receivable, and file and supply management. The team is also responsible for inventory management for the LTSB, the Legislature and other supporting service agencies. The Administration Team releases Requests for Proposals to procure equipment for the Legislature, as well as handling contract and project management, and payroll processing.

Enterprise Team The Enterprise Team is responsible for configuration, installation, administration, operation, maintenance and support of the network and server infrastructure for the Legislature and its service agencies. This includes hardware: network switches, routers, cabling options, file servers, application servers and desktops; and software: operating systems and applications. In cooperation with the Technical Support Team the Enterprise Team identifies and creates standard images for legislative workstations, using current operating systems and office products, testing them to ensure legislative needs are fulfilled. The Enterprise Team also works in cooperation with the Software Development Team to support production and publication of legislative documents, including bill drafts, amendments, Daily Journals, Calendars, Bulletins of Proceedings, Statutes, the Blue Book, and Administrative Code.

GIS Team The GIS (Geographic Information System) Team is responsible for providing technical support to the Legislature for legislative redistricting, vote information, district maps, census tract maps, and district boundary information related to both the Legislature and the public. Support includes evaluating, recommending and maintaining GIS hardware and software, as well as providing database design and support by creating, editing, exporting, and importing Geographic Information System files. The team also facilitates training for the GIS redistricting staff, and provides direction regarding demographic and geographic issues. Along with the Software Development Team, the GIS Team is involved in the development of an interactive map web site and assists legislative offices with postal patron bulk mailings.

Software Development Team The Software Development team creates, enhances, and supports a variety of custom software applications for the Wisconsin Legislature. Software applications range from Microsoft Windows Desktop applications to highly integrated, complex software systems. These software systems include but are not limited to constituent management, the session floor voting system, the bill drafting system, and statute presentation.

Technical Support Team The LTSB Technical Support Team responds to user inquiries and problems pertaining to legislative technology. The Technical Support Team is responsible for installing and supporting hardware and software, assisting in the resolution of network problems, training computer users, providing on-site computer support while the Assembly is in session, and implementing security policies and procedures.
