Company OverviewCommunity Living Arrangements, Inc. came into existence in the fall of 1985 in response to a need for a local provider of residential services for adults with developmental disablities.We began with two eight-person homes in Walworth County. In 1990, the agency made a decision to expand into other counties, providing services to more severely handicapped individuals. CLA's Adult Family Homes are licensed to serve two to four individuals. CLA operates one CBRF and six Supported Living Apartments. As of December 2002 we operate twenty-four homes in nine counties serving over 100 clients. CLA's MISSION STATEMENT best defines our philosophy: It is our intent, in developing Community Living Arrangements for persons with developmental disabilities, to provide a home where people are not only cared for but cared about. We believe this is best achieved in a warm, family atmosphere, where residents are enabled and encouraged to grow to their full potential. The dignity and self-determination of the individuals being served is uppermost. Opportunities for community integration and full community participation are a primary gaol. The key to success is in the identification of support, supervision, and training needs and in the delivery of service, that matches these needs. Service adaptation is more important than client skills in determining success.
