Company OverviewAbout Us:The Workforce Development Board works in collaboration with the Waukesha, Ozaukee and Washington County local elected officials, economic development corporations, businesses and the community to address macro economic workforce issues. The Board is committed to finding solutions to local workforce needs through long-term planning and timely responses to the changing economy. The Board has selected the Workforce Development Inc., a private non-profit corporation to be the fiscal and administrative agent for the Boards funds and programs. Role and Purpose of the WOW Workforce Development Board: 1.Develop and modify the local strategic workforce development plan in partnership with local elected officials. 2.Designate a fiscal and administrative agent. 3.Designate one-stop center operators. 4.Identify and select eligible providers of training services and youth activities through contract awards. 5.Develop and approve budgets necessary to carry out local duties; solicit and accept grants and donations from sources other than federal funds. 6.Oversee and certify programs and services in the area’s one-stop system. 7.Coordinate local workforce investment activities with economic development strategies. 8.Promote the participation of private sector employers in the statewide workforce investment system. Aspiration/Vision: The Workforce Development Board will be recognized as the catalyst for innovative workforce solutions, providing leadership and vision to advance the economic well-being of the region for employers, employees and job seekers.
