The Medical Office Assistant (MOA) is responsible for a variety of clinical, clerical and coordination services to support high quality, cost-effective patient care in the Advocate/Aurora Clinics at Walgreens. The MOA supports virtual patient care delivery via use of Tytocare technology while on site at the retail clinics. Great opportunity for Patient Service Representative (PSR), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA)- who is looking for a more autonomous and exciting role. Locations:BrookfieldWauwatosa Operating Hours: 9a – 5:30p (Mon – Fri) 9a – 3p Saturday  9A-2p Sunday* Will work 4 week day shifts per week and rotating weekends

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide clinical and administrative support to remote and/or in-person Advanced Practice Clinicians while on site at Advocate/Aurora Clinics at Walgreens
  • Complete the patient registration process, which includes documenting patient demographics, processing insurance and copays and scheduling patient appointments in the electronic medical record
  • Facilitate waiting room management and patient rooming processes
  • Complete vitals and point of care testing on patients
  • Monitor supply inventory; order clinical and office supplies
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, APCs, Walgreens store management and ACW leadership in support of patient care delivery
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, professional, and organized clinic environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.  Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.  Age-specific information is developed further in the departmental job standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

License/Registration/Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within 21 days of start date.

Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. 

Experience Required: Typically requires one year of experience in a clinical and/or customer service or patient registration setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with a variety of patients, teammates, and clinicians.
  • Proficient computer skills including electronic medical records systems, typing, navigation within a windows operating system, supply ordering and use of electronic mail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be available to work rotating weekends
  • Travel between sites of care- may be requested to work at nearby Advocate/Aurora Clinic at Walgreens retail clinics
  • Flexible hours
  • The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting supplies and moving equipment
  • Need for hand dexterity to manipulate physical assessment device and type in electronic medical record
